Teatro alla Scala, located in Milan, Italy, is one of the world’s most prestigious Opera houses. First inaugurated in 1778, it is recognised worldwide for its exceptional acoustics and Neoclassical architecture.

To celebrate the launch of the C72 today, Colnago are producing a limited edition model, limited to a production run of 72 bikes, each individually numbered.

The C Series represents Colnago at its purest. It originated from the pursuit of the perfect bicycle, blending design, engineering, and performance with a deep sense of heritage and passion. To this day, every C Series frame is fully handmade in Italy, built using a modular approach that joins individually crafted carbon tubes into a complete frame.

Every C72 is made in Italy with meticulous care, following a process refined over decades and guided by a pursuit of perfection.

Like the Colnago C68 before it, the C72 is constructed from seven separate elements. This modular approach stands apart in an era dominated by monocoque carbon frames, instead using craftsmanship, controlled assembly, and the ability to precisely tune stiffness, compliance, and distribution of forces.

In Cambiago, each frame begins with the bonding and assembly of individually engineered carbon tubes and joints, positioned with absolute precision in dedicated jigs and finished by hand. From there, the frame travels to Pisa, where it is airbrushed with the same attention to detail, before returning to Cambiago for final assembly.
