The C series is the most authentic expression of Colnago. It was born from the idea of the ‘perfect bicycle’, where aesthetics, engineering and performance come together with history and emotion. The C Series is still entirely handmade in Italy, using a modular construction method, where the frame is created by joining individually engineered carbon tubes.
Multi-piece construction
By designing individual pieces producing them in smaller casts, Colnago is able to fine tune characterists in great detail. Different types of carbon fibers are used, to create a bike which rides exactly as desired.
Making the bike modular also means that more complex shapes are possible, whilst maintaining the desired thickness and stiffness of the tubes. The outcome is a distinctive aesthetic, with low weight and best in class stiffness and responsiveness.
In terms of its construction, the C72 shares many similarities with the C68. However, what makes the C72 really different is the new approach of surface modeling, creating smooth and continuous surfaces, despite the multiple tube and parts construction.
New design features
The bottle cage is a new, patent pending integrated design, which can be removed to access storage below. You can now store emergency supplies, such as hex keys, spares tubes and Co2.
The integrated seatpost system has been revised, making it more aerodynamic and clamped by a new pushing block system.
New CC.02 handlebar
The CC.02 has a new curve shape, which enables a more aggressive position and better brake control on a lower position. It’s 15 grams lighter than the CC.01, and has a slightly different geometry, improving stability.

Production excellence and limitation
Time is the most precious resource of all, and it is at the heart of the C72’s value.
Its construction demands a sequence of meticulous, hand-executed processes, each
requiring precision, care, and the expertise of skilled craftsmen. This dedication cannot be rushed.
For this reason, production is intentionally limited and no more than 3000 C72 frames will be created each year.
