Windwave welcomes Classified

Windwave Commercial Manager, Luke Leuillette said “We are excited to be welcoming Classified to Windwave. Being chosen as the sole distributor for the UK and Eire is a great privilege for our team. As we add to our product range it’s our focus to support our community with clear channels of communication and accessibility along with full technical support from our Tech and Service dept.”

Classified Cycling’s John Harris, spoke of the opportunity that lay ahead for Windwave and Classified Cycling in the UK:

“Firstly, we have had a great start in the UK with a great team of agents, so a big thank you to them. We are all very excited to take the next step and work with Windwave. The passion, drive and focus synergize perfectly with Classified with our industry changing technology. Windwave will be instrumental in our vision to change what we all understand to be a ‘typical’ drivetrain set-up. Our current portfolio has been received extremely well in the UK and ROI, with no sign of slowing with the new additions to the range – including hub-only and MTB solutions.”

More about Classified

After 7 years of development, Classified was proud to introduce POWERSHIFT technology: a wireless 2 speed shifting system, integrated in the rear hub, allowing you to change gears in a split second, under full load and on any terrain.

How does it work?

Step 1

A shifter or a satellite shift button will trigger a shift and is attached to the Smart Handlebar Unit, sending out a wireless signal’

Step 2

The Smart Thru Axle receives the wireless shift signal and will trigger the hub to shift using contactless energy transfer.

Step 3

The POWERSHIFT Hub, when receiving the signal, will shift between 2 ratios.

Key Features

Instant shifting
150 miliseconds, that’s all it takes

Shifting under full load
Up to 1000 watts

Ultimate gear coverage
24 gears, small steps, 451% gear range

Highly efficient
More than 99% efficient

Weatherproof
No need to worry about dirt or rain

Competitive weight
Equally light* or lighter than a traditional electronic groupset

*A Classified equipped bike is equally light or lighter than a bike with a traditional 2x electronic groupset equipped bike and traditional reference hub (eg. DT Swiss 350). To be more concrete, a bike equiped with Classified and 1x GRX Di2 weighs the same (+-10g) as a bike with a traditional 2×11 GRX Di2 groupset and a DT Swiss 350 hub. The bike setup used by our initial partner: Classified in combination with a Rotor Aldhu 1x crank, is up to 70g lighter than the same bike with a traditional 2×11 GRX Di2 groupset and a DT Swiss 350 hub. In short we can state that the weight of the replaced components (front derailleur, small chainring, traditional hub, thru axle and cassette) is approximately the same as the weight of the components offered by Classified.
